As it it begins to cool down, again, this week its the perfect weather for curling up with a good book, or white paper, or two. Here are a few recent publications to get lost in:
“Perspectives on Energy Policy” from Sandia National Labs is an overview of what we should do as a nation to overcome the fact that we’ve not been doing much of anything.
The World Wildlife Fund’s “Climate Solutions 2: Low-Carbon Re-Industrialisation” is very interesting, and outlines a number of issues with even the proposed/possible “solutions” currently pursued.
And lastly, I am pleased to make available1 a small but inspiring book I was just finishing when I began at CEA a little over a year ago. The Third Try at World Order: U.S. Policy for an Interdependent World. Although it was written by Harlan Cleveland for the bicentennial, its message is still (unfortunately) quite relevant.
1. I was so moved by the essay that I sought permission from the original publisher plus the author’s estate to disseminate an electronic copy, and have received their blessings to do so.
